I started my 3-day trip to San Francisco at Fisherman's Wharf. Here's a view of Alcatraz from one of the piers.
Some cute, touristy shops on the pier.
The most famous occupants of Pier 39 - the sea lions.
A video of the sea lions barking.
A view of the city from Coit Tower.
Another view.
My new home. well, OK, not yet but I swear I'm moving to this super cute part of San Francisco (near Coit Tower) as soon as a million dollars falls in my lap. Which should be any day now ...
Pulling into Alcatraz on the ferry.
A squinty-eyed me on the Alcatraz audio tour. No matter how touristy Alcatraz may seem, I highly recommend it.
The kitchen at Alcatraz. The white box is where they kept their knives, and they painted the shape of the knives in black so they could quickly see if one was missing.
Then I headed up to Lombard Street. This is the view of Alcatraz from there.
A distant view of Lombard Street (you can see the windy part off in the distance).
Close up.
A cable car!
Haight & Ashbury.
The "Full House" house at Alamo Square.
A hilarious street performer. He was actually more hilarious than I was able to capture, but of course as soon as I turned my camera on things calmed down.
The Golden Gate Bridge, which is like the most impossible thing to get a picture of. When you're far away from it, it's usually too hazy or foggy to get a good picture, and then when you're on it, well, you get weird-angled pictures like this.
Redwoods at Muir Woods.
We ended the trip with ice cream and then a drink in Sausalito. So cute!
